FESTIVAL AREA

  • Sideways takes place at the Helsinki Ice Hall and its surroundings at Nordenskjöldinkatu 11–13. The event area map will be released later.

The event area opens on Thursday at 3.30PM, Friday at 3PM and Saturday at 1.30PM. The first performers will start half an hour after the gates open. The outdoor area of the festival will quiet down after the last acts of the evening, but the party will continue inside the ice rink until late in the morning. The exact timetable will be announced later in the Spring.

  • Sideways takes place in Nordis, the area around the Nordenskiöldinkatu Ice Hall and the Eläintarha Sports Park. See the location on Google Maps

There is very limited parking space around the venue, so we recommend arriving by public transportation, walking, or by bike. Bikes and electric scooters can be parked near Bolt Arena, Kisahalli, Olympic Stadium, or swimming stadium.

The best way to get to the venue by public transport is by tram or bus. The closest stops are about 200 meters away from the festival gates. For more information on public transport schedules and routes, visit www.reittiopas.fi.

Please take enough time for arrival and departure. Remember to respect the privacy of residents in the surrounding areas and avoid littering or hanging out in our neighbors' yards.

You can find the map at the bottom of this page.

  • CLOAKROOM: A voluntary cloakroom is available at the main entrance of Sideways. The cloakroom opens at the same time as the event area and closes in the early hours of the morning after the program ends. The cloakroom fee is 5 euros (additional visits 2 euros).

    RESTAURANTS & BARS
Sideways area offers a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes. The restaurant selection will be announced in the Spring. Our food selection consists of quality vegetarian dishes, and each food sales point also offers vegan options. It is also important to us that each bar has non-alcoholic options available.

MERCHANDISE: The event area features a merchandise stand for artists' fan products. Unfortunately, we do not know in advance which artists will bring merchandise for sale, so you can explore the selection at the event.

    LOST AND FOUND
During the festival, found objects will be delivered to the information point located in the ice rink, near the entrance. You can also ask for lost property by e-mail info@fullsteam.fi. If you find something in the area that you think another Sideways visitor might need, you can bring it to the information desk or to the nearest steward. Anything worth more than 20 euros will be delivered to the Pasila police station the week after the festival. Items of lower value will be sent for recycling.

  • The festival area is mostly flat concrete or asphalt, but there are stairs at Nordis and a down strairs venue called Basement. There are accessible routes to each stage area, but the routes might deviate from the paths of other attendees. We recommend allowing enough time for transitions. There are some doorsteps in the area, but there are staff near each door to assist with crossing if necessary.

Accessible toilets are located inside the Northern end of the ice hall and outside in the main stage area. The accessible toilet inside the ice hall is locked, and the key can be borrowed from the first aid station.

Wheelchair viewing platforms are available, and their exact locations will be announced in the Spring. The platforms have limited capacity, and their locations will be marked on the area map to be published later. Assistants are welcome in the stands if space allows, and there will be seats reserved.

We will be happy to answer any questions on this topic by email at info@fullsteam.fi .

  • No beverages, glass bottles or cans, firearms or weapons (including multitools), fireworks, spray bottles (including sunscreen bottles with gas propellant), or similar dangerous items are allowed into the festival area. Umbrellas are prohibited. Please leave camping chairs at home as there are benches, chairs, and other seating available. Security checks are conducted at the gate, and security guards make the final decision on whether items pose a security risk.

Small hand sanitiser and sunscreen are allowed at the event.

You can bring one empty water bottle with a maximum capacity of 0.5 liters to Sideways. There are plenty of water taps where you can refill your bottle (next to the main stage area toilets, in the food sales area, and in all indoor ice hall toilets). Standard-sized snacks such as sandwiches, fruits, candies, etc. are allowed.

If you need to bring prescription medication, please bring the prescription or the original packaging of the medication and only bring the dose needed for the day. If you need a larger quantity of prescription medication with you, please contact the event organizers in advance (info@fullsteam.fi) or register at the gate before entering with the head security guard so that your entry can be as smooth as possible.

We would also like to remind you that the festival environment is not suitable for pets.

  • The age limit for Sideways is 18 years. Be prepared to prove your age, and remember to book a babysitter in advance. This means that Sideways is not suitable for infants, even in the company of an adult guardian. Those under 18 cannot attend the event even with an adult.
